On May 12, 1998, His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Oglethorpe University Museum and viewed the exhibition,
The Mystical Arts of Tibet, Featuring Personal Sacred Objects of the Dalai Lama.


As a community appreciation for his contribution to international culture, Lloyd Nick received the honored Lexus Leader of the Arts Award in Atlanta for his service to the culture of Atlanta.

SALVADOR DALI:
New Additions to the
OUMA Permanent Collection
Skylight and South Gallery

The OU Museum of Art recently received a gift of 14 original Salvador Dali lithographs (including 12 four-color prints). These lithographs by the surrealist Spanish master (1904-1989) are now part of OUMA's permanent collection and have never before been exhibited to the public.

Maurice Utrillo (1883 - 1955) was a prominent artist of the romantic and picturesque Sacre Coeur section of Paris -- one of the few famous painters of Montmartre who were born there. The artwork in this exhibition comes from a private collection and is being shown for the first time.
