Female Buddha Exhibition Returns to OUMA for Summer 2003

The exhibition The Female Buddha: Women of Enlightenment in Tibetan Mysticism returns to OUMA between June 12 and August 24, 2003. Before their appearance at our Museum last September, these works had never been publically shown, nor had an exhibit on this theme ever been presented in the United States. Seen at OUMA by thousands of visitors beginning in the fall of 2002, this exhibition's popularity makes evident not only the beauty and power of Tibetan art, but also the importance of its ideas to museum visitors today.

Mandala Dismantling Ceremony Postponed - New Date to be Annnounced Soon

A Members Only Event
During this special ceremony, the mandala will be ceremonially swept up, with half the sand being carried to a local body of water, where it is deposited. The water carries the blessing to the ocean, which in turn carries it throughout the world, as an offering for world peace and harmony. The remaining half of the mandala sand will be given to those who attend, to keep in their houses or to scatter around their yards for healing energy. The dismandling ceremony will be a "members only" event. Click Here for more details.
