DACHAU BEFORE DACHAU: EUROPEAN ARTIST COLONY 1860-1914
This catalog accompanies the exhibition Dachau Before Dachau: European Artist Colony, 1860-1914 which is showing for the first time in the United States. In the decades following the Second World War, the city of Dachau has been known for the tragedies that occurred under the Third Reich. But prior to the atrocities of the late 1930’s and early 1940's, the city of Dachau was home to a burgeoning artist colony judged to be the equivalent of the one at Barbizon, France. This catalog beautifully showcases these works along with an article by Dr. Elisabeth Boser, detailing the Dachau Artist Colony.

BEFORE AND AFTER GAUGUIN: THE ART OF PRINTMAKING IN BRITTANY, 1740-1940
This exceptional exhibition of rare works comes from the private collection of Dr. Ronan Taburet of Brest, France, and represents Brittany's rich printmaking tradition that spans more than two centuries. In the late nineteenth century, the renowned French artist Paul Gauguin was drawn to the creative innovations of the artists' colonies of Pont-Aven and Le Pouldu in Brittany, and despite the very short time he spent there, he made a profound impact on the art of printmaking while in Brittany. This catalog showcases and captures over 100 full color prints by artists working in Brittany, France, between 1740-1940, and also comprised Oglethorpe University Museum of Art's 2008
exhibition, Before and After Gauguin: The Art of Printmaking in Brittany, 1740-1940.
