Georgia Watercolor Society Signature Exhibition

January 23-March 1, 2015

The Georgia Watercolor Society (GWS) holds the Signature Member Exhibition biennially. The GWS National Exhibition, open to any artist working in water media, is held annually. OUMA is delighted to host the GWS in 2015 for both the Signature and National exhibitions.

The Georgia Watercolor Society was formed in March 1975. It was organized to advance the art of watercolor painting while contributing to the cultural atmosphere and standards of the state of Georgia. It also provides support and assistance for its members and others endeavoring in the field of watercolor painting.

GWS publishes a quarterly newsletter written to inform members of shows and activities, as well as providing tips, techniques, and hints for improving the artists’ creative abilities. In addition, GWS hosts a website that provides samples of art, current and upcoming events and exhibits, award winners, links to other art websites, and a variety of valuable information for all water media artists. GWS sponsors workshops and demonstrations throughout the year.

The OU Museum of Art is closed for the holidays. We will be back Feb. 11 with a new exhibit: "Beloved Community: African American Artists in Atlanta Collections."

OUMA is participating in Smithsonian magazine's Museum Day 2019 with free admission and special hours.

Visit OUMA Saturday, September 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
