On view are a selection of 15 objects from the permanent collection in Modern and Contemporary: OUMA Collects 2026. Included are recent gifts of the art of Alex Katz given by the Critz Family, paintings by Paul Burlin given by the Mair Family Trust, and several works of art by Minna Wright Citron which were given by the artist’s granddaughter, Christiane Citron. OUMA celebrates these recent acquisitions and the continued generosity of our donors.

Robert Stanley (1932-1997), Untitled, 1957, oil on canvas, Gift of Shelley and Donald Rubin ‘56, Collection of Oglethorpe University Museum of Art, Acquired in 2013
This painting was the first work of art acquired by Donald Rubin, Oglethorpe University Class of 1956, from his classmate Bob Stanley. In 2013, Mr. Rubin gave this painting to OUMA to mark the occasion of a significant charitable gift from Shelley and Donald Rubin to OU. Their generous gift provides funding for a signature exhibition series in perpetuity.
