Dear Friends of OUMA,

Lowry HallWe are moving into a remote platform which is completely free for everyone! We look forward to a time when we may once again open our doors and welcome all of our friends and neighbors, in Brookhaven, metro Atlanta, and beyond, back to OUMA. Until that time, we are here:

  • 360-Degree Virtual Tour – In mid-October, look for an announcement! You will be able to get up close and personal with each work of art on view and read information about each as you move through the space. This high-resolution capture will allow you to see all our new acquisitions to the permanent collection, as well as some special loans, and our temporary exhibitions.
  • Extended Exhibition Dates – Our fall exhibitions, Rufino Tamayo: Textures of Our Lives and the Promesas de Paper / Paper Promises: Maria Cristina Tavera, will be opening virtually Friday, October 30th, 2020 and extended through Sunday, March 14, 2021. OUMA Collects 2020 will also extend through mid March 2021!
  • Remote Learning Series – Look for announcements for upcoming series  including lectures, artist interviews, and concerts including a special interview of artist Shanequa Gay by OU student Taylor Roberts ’21, SGA President and High Museum of Art Mellon Fellow.

Would you like other ways to connect and show your enthusiasm and support? Please consider a new, renewal, or gift membership: museum.oglethorpe.edu/membership.  Look for us on Facebook @OglethorpeUniversityMuseumofArt and Instagram @oumuseum.

Supporting the arts in these difficult times is transformational and uplifting. It can bring a beautiful respite or help address issues of social change. It gives us hope and helps us envision a better future.

We look forward to connecting with you remotely and offer our best wishes for your health and happiness,

Elizabeth H. Peterson Jennings, Director
John Daniel Tilford, Curator of Collections
